Coaches

Head Coach:

Hannah Poff -   Hannah has been an Assistant Swim Coach for the Mountville Swim Team since 2019.  She has also been a Swim America instructor since 2017 and is a Swim Lesson Supervisor at Messiah University.  Coach Hannah is on the Messiah University Swim Team and is a Middle Atlantic Swimming Championship Qualifier.  

Assistant Coaches:

Sky Wagner - Sky started swimming competitively at the age of 8 years old, and continued through high school.  She has been a lifeguard/pool manager since 2007 and is a Red Cross certified Lifeguard, Lifeguard Instructor, and American Safety and Health Institute (ASHI) CPR Instructor.  Sky has been giving private and Swim America lessons since 2007.  During the school year, Sky is a high school math teacher in York City.  Sky enjoys weightlifting and swimming in her free time.

Dereck Fritz - Derek has been an assistant coach for the Ephrata Tidal Waves.  He was a collegiate swimmer at Bloomsburg University.  He actively trains and competes in swimming events.   

Volunteer Coaches:

Rachel Albert - Rachel has 5 years coaching experience with summer and USS club teams, and spent many summers running a swim lesson program.  She was also a collegiate swimmer for Ohio Wesleyan University, specializing in 100 fly and sprint free events. Rachel’s three kids are all Hempfield Stingrays this summer! 

Amanda Matchette - Amanda swam competitively through college  and coached another team in the league for 5 summers.  She is very passionate about swimming and making sure kids enjoy the sport!  

Junior Coaches:

Ava Mayer -  In addition to being a swimmer with the Hempfield Stingrays, Ava is also a swimmer with the Hempfield High School Swim Team.  She is a member of the Hempfield High School Girls Soccer Team.  Ava plays club/travel soccer with Hershey FC and is a member of the Hempfield High School Varsity Club.  Ava is a senior this year. 

Avery Zodet - Avery joined the Hempfield Stingrays in 2012.  She is a swimmer with the Hempfield High School Swim Team and a member of the Hempfield High School Field Hockey Team.  Her extracurricular activities also include dance.  Avery is a Hempfield High School Varsity Club Officer. Avery is a senior this year.
